What a document service can — and can't — do

A notary or document pro can prepare standard forms at your direction, walk you through what each section means, gather signatures and witnesses, notarize the executed copies, and file or courier the documents to the right office. What they can't do is give legal advice or strategize a case for you. If your matter is contested, complex, or involves significant assets, NotarySeal connects you with vetted local attorneys after the document work is done.

Estate planning, family, and property

The most common legal documents that flow through NotarySeal are wills, living trusts, advance healthcare directives, durable powers of attorney, parental consent forms, child custody declarations, quitclaim and grant deeds, and small business formation paperwork. For every one of these we have specialists who handle the document daily and know the local filing quirks.

Frequently asked questions

Can a notary prepare or draft my legal documents?

No. Notaries can't draft documents or give legal advice unless they're also licensed attorneys. They can witness and notarize a document you've already prepared, or refer you to a licensed attorney or document preparation service.

What's the difference between a notary and a Legal Document Assistant?

Notaries verify signatures. Legal Document Assistants (LDAs) — registered in states like California — can prepare paperwork at the client's direction without giving legal advice. Some NotarySeal pros offer both services.

What legal documents do you handle?

Wills and trusts, powers of attorney, advance healthcare directives, family law filings, small claims forms, eviction notices, deeds and property transfers, divorce paperwork, and business formation documents.

Do you serve attorneys and law firms?

Yes. Many NotarySeal members work directly with law firms and title companies for high-volume signings, courier service, and same-day filings.

Are these services confidential?

Yes. Notaries and document professionals on NotarySeal are bound by state-level confidentiality requirements and most carry their own E&O insurance for additional protection.
